Greetings, my name is Alex. I’ve been a writer, photographer, cyclist, and bicycle mechanic for some time now and figured it was time to start documenting some of my projects and trips.  This way I can share some of my experiences and maybe learn about yours.

The name of this site reflects my ethos when it comes to cycling:  Just ride.  Far too many riders are hung up on such things as performance and aesthetics.  To be sure, these two factors can be considerations in any project or purchase, but they should never keep you from riding the bike you already own.

With any luck, you'll find something on this blog that inspires you to buy your first bike, start your own project, or go on your first tour -- or do all three!
